Bronwyn Oliver (1959-2006) was an outstanding Australian artist from a brilliant generation. Her sculptures are distinguished by a lyrical sensibility that nevertheless served an inquiring vision, and the diversity of her work was underpinned, and made coherent, by an exacting approach to making. Tenaciously pursuing the demands of her materials, Oliver developed a beguiling, enduring vocabulary that expressed her fascination with the inner life and language of forms.
